Summer 2009 Concert Rounds

Demi Lovato kicks off her first ever headlining tour on June 21. She is accompanied with American Idol runner up David Archuleta and Nick Jonas’s rumored ex girlfriend Jordin Pruitt. Visit this link : http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00023531.html to find a show near you. I think its an interesting mix of people, I’m just looking forward to Demi Lovato. I have been a big fan of her since her “gap” days, and even before that when she came out with her demo including tracks like “Open,” “Shadow,” “Trash.”

The “Terrific Teen Tour” (cheesy name) will be making a stop at the Wachovia Arena in PA on July 9th at 8pm. More information can be found here: http://www.wachoviaarena.com/eventdetails.aspx?eid=346
The tour is composed four Disney Channel stars: Hannah Montana’s Mitchel Musso, Camp Rock’s Jasmine Richards, Radio Disney superstar Savannah Outen, and the Suite Life on Deck’s Debby Ryan.

Can we just take a moment to discuss, Disney’s monopoly of stars? Disney nowadays will not hire or cast anyone who can not legitimately sing or act. Basically you have to be a double threat of singing and acting. Take Miley Cyrus, the producers of Hannah Montana hired her over the other people auditioning, because of the mere fact that she can legitimately sing. They saw a bright future ahead of her- maybe not the multi-million dollar future, but bright nonetheless.

Finally the Jonas Brothers. They will be teaming up with Jordin Sparks and Honor Society this summer, kick starting their tour on June 20 in TX. More dates can be found here: http://www.ticketsnow.com/jonas-brothers-tickets/?GCID=S16598x002-jl_jonasbr&keyword=jonas%20brothers%202009%20tickets&s_kwcid=jonas%20brothers%202009%20tickets2679598237
But also something to note- the Jonas Brothers will be doing something completely different this summer, something they have never done before. They will be performing completely in the round, meaning their stage is a circle, and they will be in the middle of the crowd, with people all around them. The Jonas Brothers are basically known for taking risks, and this is a big one. It sounds really neat, but when analyzed closer it doesn’t seem like a logical idea. That means if the boys are performing on the north side of the stage the fans on the south side will not be able to see them, only on the screens, and I feel like that isn’t even worth it. But oh well, I’m still looking forward to the concert.

Xoxo LP
